After orientation

Training

Following orientation, your training schedule will be sent to you via email and will be based on your submitted availability.

Team communication

We use Slack for team communication. During orientation, we will work with you to download the app and create your account– No need to worry about doing this on your own! Please be sure to turn on notifications to stay connected. Also, please do remember to be kind and professional.

Scheduling

We post weekly employee schedules with the HotSchedules app. The app lets you input your availability, request days off, release shifts, and trade shifts. The schedule is posted on a bi-weekly basis, two weeks in advance, so that you have time to schedule life around your work schedule.

Uniforms

Ordering uniforms

We assign uniforms based on position in the restaurant and will order them for you prior to your start date. The only item we ask you to purchase on your own is your shoes.

Pants

Are your pants slightly too long? Hemming tape is a quick and inexpensive solution. You can even buy it at Walmart.

Belts

Is your belt too long? Watch this video to learn how to make adjustments: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QRFwJmaHKmk.

Footwear

All team members must wear black socks and black non-slip shoes on the job. You must wear non-slip shoes at all times in the restaurant, including on your first day of work. If you’d like to buy additional pairs of shoes, you can purchase them at Amazon, DSW, or Walmart. Shoes for Crews is another option to consider for slip-resistant shoes, and our orientation team can assist you with placing an order.

Facial hair guidelines

Acceptable facial hairstyles

Cleanly shaven facial hair is permitted, and the following facial hairstyles are acceptable:

  • Short, neatly groomed mustaches
  • Short, neatly groomed goatees with well-defined lines
  • Short, neatly groomed beards with defined cheeks and necklines
  • Short is defined as hair up to a half-inch in length (#4 standard trimmer guard)
  • Neatly trimmed means there is a defined line where the hair ends. For example, beard hair should generally end where the jawline meets the neck (above Adam’s apple).

Unacceptable facial hairstyles

Unacceptable facial hairstyles include:

  • No undefined lines, shavings, carvings, designs, or extreme styles (no chinstraps, chops, handlebar, etc.)
  • Team Members should not work with unclean lines or patchy, inconsistent hair growth. While a Team Member is growing facial hair, the acceptable facial hair guidelines still must be followed.
